Philosophy

A bias for action is a leadership discipline.

It privileges doing over drifting, without abandoning rigour or judgement. Leaders who act decisively seize the initiative. They take small, purposeful steps along a critical path to generate momentum and growth.

Learning is active and iterative. When positivity is paired with self-awareness, confidence grows – and confidence fuels action.

My work combines authentic support with candid challenge. Empathy sits alongside accountability. Reflection only matters if it leads to action.

Experience-led support for Boards navigating complexity, risk and transition. I work alongside Chairs, CEOs and Non-Executives to sharpen judgement, challenge assumptions and strengthen collective boardroom thinking.

About me

I have lived a life of service and am motivated to continue doing so.

Thirty years in the Royal Marines – retiring as a Major General – taught me that leadership is not about command. It is about purpose, alignment and influence under pressure. I know what it takes to lead through adversity, make decisions in uncertainty and bring people with you when the stakes are real.

I now bring that experience into business, government and international organisations – partnering with Boards and C-suite leaders to strengthen resilience, shape high-performing cultures and lead through complexity, growth and change.
